Quickie Ribbon Storage Idea

Ok, so I am on my epic adventure of organizing my craft room.  As I was de-flowering my flowers yesterday for easier storage, I realized that the stems would make awesome ribbon organizers!
I like to buy these guys from JoAnns because I like the big, fluffly daisy.  I put them on barrettes, headbands, flip flops and other things for my girls.  They also come on super size stems...
...like 20 inches or so!  They are also very bendy which is going to be perfect to organize all my ribbons on spools... like THESE babies!
So here is how it works.  Oraganize your ribbon by color, then thread them on the stems.

Then crimp the ends so they don't fall off.

No hole in the spool? No problem!  Just punch one through.

When they are done, they will look a little something like this.  Is it just me or does everthing look better by when organized by color??

I also wanted to have my holiday ribbon seperate so when I craft for certain holidays I don't have to hunt for them.. or forget I have them.  So cut one of the stems in half and ....

...voila!  Now you can just grab and go when you need to make a hoilday somethin'-somethin'.

Isn't that the most beautiful thing you have ever seen? (I think I need a tissue...)

The coolest thing is my that this morning, five minutes before my kids had to be at the bus stop, I had to do "Spirit Wear" ribbons for my daughter's hair.  I booked it to my ribbon box, found my "reds" ribbons and lickity split- she got her ribbons and made it to the bus on time!  And put away was so easy since I didn't have to take it off the roll, I just put it straight back in the box!

Oh, and for loose ribbons, you can't beat a Mason Jar.  ( And they look so gosh darn cute up there, too!! )

Well, that's it, my friends!  I hope this helps somebody out there!!  :)  Wish me luck as I tackle the rest of the room!!
