How crazy is that! I made this tutorial almost two years ago. Before I posted, I did a search on the name "Pl@anket" to make sure that it was not already someone else's idea. Nothing came up. Oh, well.
However, I have modified the tutorial (my FREE, not-for-money-tutorial) and took out the controversially name. I kindly ask that if you have reposted the tutorial (thanks for the love!) that you take the name off, too. I have also edited out the name-that-shall- not- be- written in my picture, so if you can use that new picture, too.
Pl@nket... you and I have now severed all ties. Love you while it lasted, my friend!!
How about Blankow? Is that one used? How crazy!
ReplyDeleteLol! Love it! Except you know in two more years someone will make something like unmarked rowboats, (Blank+row) trademark that name Blankow and it'll happen all over again. :) Thanks for the laugh.
DeleteWho knows, maybe they got the idea from you lol
ReplyDeleteoh my! how official!
ReplyDeleteSo funny, huh! All because I made the kids a little something for a road trip. :)
DeleteI had a professional photography company in London contact me about a photo I shared on my blog nearly three years ago. I found it on a 'free' photo site and had used it without knowing who took it or that someone had 'erased' the name of the photographer from the bottom of the photo. It was done innocently, not understanding that free does not always mean free! The man who contacted me was polite but extremely firm. When I replied with the information about where I found the photo and that I meant no one any harm, nor would I intentionally use copywrited material, he followed with a letter from his firm - threatening legal action - and requiring that I pay over fifty dollars for the use of the photo or immediately remove it from my blog. I chose to remove it from my blog and then wrote a post, cautioning my blog friends about people out there who are 'scouring' the internet for people like us! Innocent bloggers who enjoy sharing our lives with other bloggers. Dangerous, we are - for sure!

Oh my, I suppose you never know...I always wonder if something I create or do, not realize anyone else has, will actually cause this in the future...one never knows, and who can really know who thought it up first either...good for you for taking the right action! So glad I stumbled upon your lovely site...love all your crafty ideas and posts! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat can i say that hasn't already been said, just my sincere thanks for having such a way with words that I could relate to. Having let myself go for many years while bring up my three children, I am now finding me and being slightly selfish. I will be checking out your site regularly for inspiration and motivation. Hopefully i can up grade my blog once I have worked out how to make it look better and load photo's.
ReplyDeleteHave a fab day and an even better life.
Oh blast, I have just written something amazing and then signed in and lots the lot, hay ho. Just wanted to say I have really enjoyed whiling away several hours looking through your blog and many of the links, of which I have put onto my favourites now. Love the way you write and the things you say have definetly hit the nail on the head regarding how we can loose ourselves while bringing up our families. I am in the stage of finding myself again and being a tad selfish - I have learnt to say NO. Thank you for that. Once I have worked out how to change the background of my bloke and load pictures I will publish some of my makings. Have a fab day and an even better life.
ReplyDeleteI don't suppose you can find out when they copyrighted that name? Ring whatever "body" handles patents to ask them. The find out if you can do anything about it with the proof that your tutorial was done so long ago?
